Jazz Studies
JAZZ Studies at Studio 46 are offered as a
separate course of study for intermediate and advanced students only, on most major
instruments. Rates are $22.00 per half hour, (average $88/ 4 wk. month).
Prerequisites
Students of Jazz Theory must meet the following basic
music theory and musicianship requirements in order to be accepted into the Jazz studies
program:
- Comprehension of music intervals, (maj. min. perfect,
etc.).
- Performance of the B-slat Concert Scale.
- Knowledge of the construction of Major and Minor scales.
- The 60 basic Major, Minor, Diminished and Augmented Triads,
and their inversions.
The above mentioned prerequisites are what constitutes a
basic "Fundamentals of Music Theory" Course, and may be learned independently,
through most public school systems at a Junior or Senior Level, or privately, with an
instructor of Studio 46.
